Say what?! VOXX Coffee
So this past week we finally moved into our new place in Seattle. We found the most kick ass place in the Eastlake neighborhood and are just a block from the water and so close to downtown and all those glorious furniture stores. A huge plus for Copper. And there’s even a dog park around the corner where Copper can run like the wild banshee he is, a huge plus in the city. We are going to do a full post on our new place and are taking before and after decorating photos to share. You all wouldn’t believe how excited we are to finally utilize our personal stashes of vintage and mid-century finds.
Now getting to the purpose of this post. So we move here last week and start walking around the neighborhood and to our utter amazement, what do we find around the corner on the next block? VOXX coffee, a mid-century designed and inspired coffee shop. You wouldn’t even believe it, we totally s*** ourselves. How perfect right? Well, with this great find comes a tad bit of sad news. When VOXX originally opened, it was completely decked out in Bertoia side chairs, but apparently too many unappreciative and unknowing customers complained about the comfort and waffle butt-marks that they replaced them sometime this past year with non-Bertoia chairs. We were crushed. What we’d like to know now is what the heck they did with ALL of those chairs? Hopefully they aren’t sitting in some storage area…
Anyhow, despite this tragedy, VOXX serves up some delish dishes in addition to the decor. Stumptown coffee which is the bomb diggity and Top Pot doughnuts. Plus they’re open late and serve alcohol for the non-caffeiners. Their sandwiches are pretty awesome too. At this point we haven’t figured out if our daily visit to VOXX is based on the mid-century addiction or the necessary nourishment they provide.
If any of you are ever around these parts, please give us a holler. We’d love to treat you to a tasty beverage at this mid-century paradise.
